Social life

Society in the remote villages, such as Vouvas in Sfakia, was entirely different half a century ago. The geographical isolation of Sfakia contributed to the survival of old customs that disappeared in the rest of Crete. Through images and explanatory notes, the distinct character of this society is revealed.
