I was born in 1926 and remember well how the world was before the war.
I lived through the war, the occupation, the civil war, and two dictatorships (those of 1936 and 1967). I witnessed the rapid development of technical civilization, especially after World War II, which influenced both the economic and cultural levels, impacting all phases of life. I experienced great changes in our cultural life (in customs, traditions, language, clothing, etc.). From personal experience, I can judge and compare the recent past with the present, between which there are so many differences. I consider it important that these differences should not be lost. We, the few elderly still here, must record them in order to pass them on to the younger generations.
