PAINTINGS
“I have the impression that I have accomplished something important in the particularly challenging field of folkloric painting, and this is due to the fact that: 1) I have lived through the very scenes that I paint. 2) I maintain, with God’s help, an excellent memory, enabling me to keep these images alive in my mind and draw them out as ‘models’ when I paint. 3) I have lived all my years until today in a region rich in cultural tradition. 4) I manage to write. 5) I manage to paint. “And of course, there are many people who have developed some of the above abilities to a much greater extent; however, I believe it is an advantage for me that I am able to create a reliable visual and narrative composition.”
