Apart from his main occupation, the rural highland villager often engaged in other occasional toils.
He would go fishing, snail gathering, or hunting. He might also take on a temporary day job, if he could find one and had the time. All these activities cannot be classified as professions, since one did not engage in them systematically — but we can certainly describe them.
They would “lock” the hands behind the back and load the stones onto him.
A small wooden board was secured with ropes, and they’d pile the stones on top.
The large stones were carried on the “nómos” (shoulder).
When it came to patching shoes, they used strips of goat leather as thread for stitching.
